Silvair delivers the first qualified Bluetooth® NLC solution for HVAC applications
The Bluetooth SIG has officially adopted the HVAC Integration NLC Profile, and the corresponding qualification program launched earlier today. This marks a pivotal milestone in the evolution of Bluetooth NLC as a multi-application standard for commercial buildings. Silvair is proud to deliver the first qualified product compliant with the new specification, offering seamless integration between lighting and HVAC systems via a standardized wireless interface.
This development opens the door to streamlined HVAC control powered by real-time data from occupancy sensors already deployed in Bluetooth NLC lighting networks. By eliminating the need for separate detection infrastructure or costly integration hardware, the new profile brings immediate value to commercial building projects — enabling scalable, standards-based communication between lighting and HVAC.
We see this as the natural next step in Bluetooth NLC’s evolution and a new chapter for interoperable building automation. Standardized communication between lighting and HVAC makes it easier to deploy smart control strategies, enhance operational efficiency, and meet ever-tightening energy regulations.
Our newly qualified firmware is now available for use in lighting-HVAC setups and for integration into thermostats. It is designed to help partners fast-track product development and simplify project delivery. If you're a thermostat manufacturer, system integrator, or facility manager exploring the benefits at the intersection of lighting and HVAC, we’re here to help move things forward.
